About the Job

The Division of Periodontology is seeking a temporary faculty member to teach in the Perio clinic on Fridays from March 2026 - June 2026

Duties will include:

  • Facilitation of Periodontal Technique DDS 6112/DDS 7112 Pre-Clinic learning groups (DDS1-DDS2 students) in 8 South Clinic during Spring and Summer semesters.
  • Facilitation of dental student learning and application of non-surgical periodontal instrumentation on typodonts and on fellow students.
  • Facilitation of dental student learning and application Oral Hygiene education for the dental patient.
  • Introduction and demonstration of basic Infection Control Protocols and PPE utilization in the dental clinic setting.
  • Introduction and demonstration of Axium Training EHR activities and documentation in the dental clinic setting. Facilitate dental student application of Axium Training and utilization.
  • Assessment and evaluation of Periodontal Technique Pre-Clinic student learning through Skill Assessment evaluation.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited course in dental hygiene

Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching dental hygiene in higher education setting

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $40-$43.39 depending on education/qualifications/experience.
