Job Summary
The Library Assistant IV - Instruction & Marketing Coordinator supports the efficient operation of the University Library's Information Literacy & Instruction Department through coordination of scheduling and outreach activities, development of marketing and promotional materials, and compilation of departmental data and reports.

The role contributes to student success by supporting instructional initiatives that help students understand and apply information literacy concepts, including how to effectively access, evaluate, and use library resources, tools, and services. In addition, this position builds and maintains campus partnerships to enhance engagement and promote library services. Some evening and weekend work is required. This position reports to the Senior Librarian of Information Literacy Services.
Minimum Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of three years of relevant experience in a library setting; or any comparable combination of education, supervisory training or experience, and practical experience may be considered .

  • Bachelor's degree, or enrollment in a Library Science, Information Science, or related degree program; or relevant work experience in an academic library.
  • Familiarity with library databases, information resources, and information technology.
  • Experience with online design and publishing tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud).
  • Experience with video editing software (e.g., Camtasia).

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to interact professionally and comfortably with members of the campus community and the public.

To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This position supports the daily operations and outreach efforts of the Information Literacy Department and includes the following responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and schedule Information Literacy instruction sessions in collaboration with faculty and campus partners.
  • Compile, analyze, and present monthly statistical and activity reports.
  • Plan, organize, and conduct library tours for students, faculty, and visitors.
  • Promote and market Information Literacy programs, workshops, and events through various communication channels.
  • Actively participate in library outreach events, campus initiatives, and departmental or university committees.
  • Collaborate with campus offices, departments, programs, and organizations to develop, support, and promote library resources and services.
  • Provide high-quality customer service to patrons, staff, and campus partners in all interactions.
  • Ensure compliance with library and university policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
