Pay: $40 - $48 / hr

Schedule: M - F; 8:30a - 5p

Lead HVAC Technician - JLL

What this job involves:

We are seeking an experienced Lead HVAC Service Technician to join our facilities management team. This role involves leading a team of technicians while performing complex HVAC maintenance, repairs, and installations across commercial properties. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with leadership capabilities and exceptional problem-solving skills.

What your day to day will look like:

• Lead and mentor a team of HVAC service technicians, providing technical guidance and ensuring quality workmanship across all projects.
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems including chillers, boilers, rooftop units, VAV systems, and building automation controls.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and develop comprehensive service schedules to minimize equipment downtime and extend system lifecycles.
• Respond to emergency service calls and troubleshoot complex system failures using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
• Coordinate with property managers, contractors, and vendors to ensure seamless project execution and tenant satisfaction.
• Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and equipment histories using computerized maintenance management systems.
• Ensure all work complies with local codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
• Train junior technicians on best practices, safety protocols, and new technologies.
• Participate in equipment procurement decisions and provide technical specifications for system upgrades or replacements.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of commercial HVAC experience with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• EPA Universal Certification, relevant state licensing as applicable.
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, controls, and building automation systems.
• Proficiency with diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and computerized maintenance management software.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of HVAC technical training program or apprenticeship or Associate degree in HVAC, mechanical engineering, or related field.
• Additional certifications in specific equipment brands or building automation systems.
• Experience with energy management systems and sustainability initiatives.
• OSHA safety training certification.
