As part of our Tooling, Process & Training team, you'll play a pivotal role in developing innovative hardware and processes for service, commissioning, and high-stakes emergency or abnormal scenarios. In this dynamic position, you'll collaborate with top engineers, test groundbreaking tools and methodologies, and provide rapid response to field units requiring corrective action-driving the evolution of the energy sector forward.


What You'll Do
  • Collaborate with a dynamic, high-energy team to transform challenging and high-risk scenarios into safe, manageable outcomes, while documenting processes for continuous refinement and scalable future applications
  • Perform advanced battery diagnosis and disassembly on both standard and faulted units, ensuring precise analysis and safe handling of complex energy storage systems
  • Mentor and train cross-functional teams to achieve expert-level proficiency in battery cells, modules, and packs, empowering them to diagnose, disassemble, and safely manage all Tesla products
  • Identify and implement opportunities to optimize electrical systems and processes, integrating cutting-edge technologies to boost performance, minimize costs, and drive productivity gains
  • Foster seamless collaboration and communication with diverse stakeholders, including program management, field support, customers, EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety), technical publications, service engineering, and product design teams
  • Develop comprehensive documentation, processes, procedures, and training programs for teams in manufacturing and application engineering environments, promoting consistency and knowledge transfer
  • Uphold rigorous safety standards and regulatory compliance for electrical systems, processes, and procedures; conduct thorough inspections, surveillances, and hazard assessments to mitigate risks and ensure a secure operational environment

  • Willingness to travel extensively (50-70% of the time) to commissioning sites, operational facilities, and Tesla locations worldwide, demonstrating flexibility and a global mindset
  • Hands-on, resourceful problem-solving skills with a scrappy, innovative approach to overcoming challenges in fast-paced environments
  • Deep passion for sustainable energy solutions, including renewables, microgrids, and diesel generator replacement technologies, with a drive to advance clean energy initiatives
  • Strong teaching and mentoring abilities, excelling at distilling complex technical concepts into clear, accessible explanations for diverse audiences
  • Proven track record of developing safe, efficient documentation and procedures that enable teams to follow best practices and achieve consistent results
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, fostering effective collaboration across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated expertise in operating lab equipment, such as oscilloscopes, electronic loads, signal generators, meters, and related tools, with a focus on precision and safety

    Expected Compensation
    $35.15 - $44.84/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
