GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Nurse Manager or Administration, assumes accountability for a clinic/department with multiple staff members (i.e., RNs, MAs, LPNs, etc.). Provides first line management responsibilities including clinical leadership and supervisory support to an assigned clinic/department. Performs duties of a Registered Nurse in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and families. Works in partnership with the Nurse Manager, the health care team and medical group leaders to ensure a quality practice setting that supports professional nursing practice and quality patient care. Demonstrates clinical competence. Participates in planning and budget development.

Henry Ford Health is seeking an experienced RN Supervisor to lead operations alongside the RN Manager at our Comprehensive Care Center located at the Hamtramck Medical Center. This is an exciting opportunity to join and oversee a team committed to delivering exceptional, patient-centered care in a clinic setting and in the homes of patients.

The Comprehensive Care Center provides clinic and Home-bound services for adult (18 years +) polychronic patients, who require longer appointment times and a care team model approach. The Comprehensive Care Center services patients at the Hamtramck Medical Center Clinic and in patients' homes who reside in Wayne, Macomb, and Oakland counties.

What You'll Do

As the Supervisor, you will ensure smooth daily operations in both the clinic and Home-bound programs by:

  • Monitoring patient flow and addressing bottlenecks.
  • Overseeing rooming processes, including registration, scheduling, and insurance verification.
  • Reviewing Epic dashboards for appointment accuracy and cancellations.
  • Verifying referral authorizations and payment collections.
  • Resolving patient concerns promptly using AIDET and HEART principles; supporting service recovery.
  • Confirming adherence to Henry Ford Health policies, infection control, and safety protocols.
  • Monitoring KPIs such as wait times and no-show rates; noting variances.
  • Reviewing staffing schedules, addressing attendance issues, and ensuring coverage.
  • Communicating policy changes and workflow updates to the team.
  • Identifying workflow inefficiencies and proposing improvements.
  • Completing payroll. ( Kronos / Dimensions)
  • Assist with in-basket messaging when required. ( EPIC)

Weekly & Monthly Responsibilities Include:

  • Auditing rooming practices and charting.
  • Reviewing patient volume trends and Epic reports.
  • Conducting staff meetings, performance evaluations, and competency reviews.
  • Driving quality improvement initiatives and encouraging staff engagement.
  • Attend meetings as required.

Schedule & Location

  • Work Location: On-site at Hamtramck Medical Center
  • Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

No weekends, no holidays, no on-call

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, nursing, or related field required.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in healthcare with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Computer Proficiency: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, EPIC (EMR), Power BI, Kronos/Dimensions.
    • Successful completion of Henry Ford Ambulatory Orientation.
    • Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
    • Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and medical group personnel.

Licensure: Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
