Summary: The Data Product Manager is a key contributor to product strategy and execution. Specifically, this role is responsible for managing product roadmaps, driving vision alignment across teams, taking the lead in vendor management, and ensuring product strategy delivers value in a way that aligns with stakeholder needs.
- Help shape the product strategy, vision, and enhancements, including roadmaps for a defined product area.
- Own and evolve the product vision and roadmap in alignment with enterprise growth, retention, and engagement goals for a defined product area.
This exempt position will report to the Associate Vice President, Data Strategy, in the Division of Executive Services. It is based in our Chicago office and is a hybrid role: 3 days per week in the office/2 days per week remote. The anticipated salary range for this position is $115,000 - $130,000 (commensurate with related experience). Key Responsibilities:
1. Program and Roadmap Management
- Manage product planning and prioritization for key data products to ensure alignment with strategic goals and customer needs for a defined product area.
- Maintain and track the overall roadmap for data product initiatives and quality insights launch, ensuring alignment across workstreams (e.g., MVP rollout, Epic integrations).
- Lead weekly alignment meetings, sprint planning, and cross-functional stand-up meetings to maintain execution momentum.
- Track tasks, deliverables, timelines, and dependencies across internal and vendor teams.
2. Data & Technical Product Management
- Partner closely with data engineering teams to ensure feasibility and alignment of product goals with technical capabilities.
- Translate clinical and analytical data needs into structured data product requirements (e.g., data marts, dashboards, APIs).
- Collaborate on data model evolution, data quality standards, and governance frameworks.
- Ensure data products adhere to regulatory and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, IRB).
- Champion the use of standardized vocabularies (e.g., SNOMED, LOINC, ICD, CPT) and interoperability frameworks (e.g., FHIR).
3. Stakeholder Engagement and Product Alignment
- Develop a deep understanding of customer and stakeholder needs through interviews, analytics, and research to define vision and strategy for a product area.
- Serve as a connector across vendors, data science, ACS Engineering, and ACS IT.
- Influence and educate senior stakeholders across lines of business to advocate for product adoption and integration.
- Ensure roadmap priorities reflect real stakeholder needs and feedback.
- Support requirements gathering and help translate clinical and product ideas into structured project deliverables.
- Write requirements and users stories.
4. Operational Execution
- Manage product KPIs, monitor performance, and iterate to maximize relevance and ROI of activations.
- Monitor risk areas, flag issues early, and drive resolution across teams.
- Maintain tracking materials like dashboards, status updates, action trackers, and communication briefs.
- Help define and iterate on frameworks to evaluate product impact and partner value.
Required Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing economics, or related field required.
- 5+ years of experience on a product management team, as well as customer relationship management experience.
- 3+ years of experience in healthcare highly preferred.
- Successful track record of program implementation and achieving business objectives.
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
