Job Description




As a Security Guard - Armed Patrol Driver in Richmond, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol government locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing a visible presence. This role is both armed and driving, requiring you to operate a vehicle as you conduct patrols. You will engage with the public, deliver outstanding customer service, and contribute to a welcoming environment while upholding our core values of integrity, teamwork, and putting people first.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or access.
  • Monitor for suspicious behavior and report security-related concerns according to established protocols.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential security-related incidents within the government facility.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Complete detailed reports of daily activities, incidents, and/or irregularities observed during patrols.
  • Follow all Allied Universal policies and procedures while providing armed security-related services at the government site.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Proof of high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
