Description

The Department of Neurosurgery is seeking a highly organized Patient Care Coordinator/Surgery Scheduler to support our clinical team. Reporting to the Manager, this role provides direct administrative and care coordination support to neurosurgery physicians and their patients. Key responsibilities include coordinating surgery scheduling and perioperative care, serving as a central liaison between patients and providers, facilitating access to services across the health system, and maintaining communication with referring physicians. The position also supports patients by connecting them to appropriate resources and providing timely follow-up through phone and EPIC/Care Connect to ensure continuity of care and an exceptional patient experience.

Hourly range: $30.36-$43.49

Qualifications

Required


  • Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities
  • Ability to establish and maintain and productive working relationships with Faculty, Staff, Administration and patients from various social, cultural and economic backgrounds.
  • Ability to creatively integrate competing demands into a productive working environment.
  • Skill in verbal communications to clearly convey complex problems in both formal and informal situations.
  • Ability to interact diplomatically and sympathetically with a patient population in varying degrees of health
  • Ability to provide coverage for Community Clinics as assigned.







Preferred:


  • Knowledge of specific specialty practice and workflows
  • Working knowledge of patient related policies and procedures as well as a thorough understanding of the University system and it services and programs.
  • Knowledge of hospital computer system, and personal computer systems and the various software products to perform administrative work.
  • Familiarity and knowledge of authorization process & managed care programs
  • Experience scheduling surgeries and working with EHR system.
