This high-profile transit project is crucial to enhancing the safety, reliability, and performance of rail operations throughout Manhattan and the greater New York City area. The scope encompasses documenting and inspecting construction activity related to rail systems, communications infrastructure, and station upgrades. Our team will ensure that contractors comply fully with approved safety, health, and quality plans, working closely with New York City Transit (NYCT) and other stakeholders.

Role Responsibilities:



  • Support the Resident Engineer and Project Manager in monitoring and documenting construction activity.


  • Provide technical oversight for procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical and communications equipment.


  • Conduct thorough inspections and observations to ensure contractor adherence to plans, specifications, and contract documents.


  • Prepare accurate daily and summary inspection reports.


  • Coordinate with Quality specialists and NYCT representatives to guarantee compliance with quality and safety standards.


  • Review Contractor time charges and force account charges as required, and assist in record keeping and problem resolution.


  • Prioritize safe and uninterrupted railway operations at all stages of the project.
  • Monitors construction activities for adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, and contractual obligations.
  • Reviews contractor submittals, shop drawings, and material certifications.
  • Identifies field issues with project engineers, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Prepares and reviews detailed daily reports, inspection logs, and maintain accurate project documentation.



Qualifications & Experience:

The qualifications and experience required for this project are as follows: The Resident Representative role requires 3-5 years of CM experience with low voltage systems, telecommunications, fiber optics, cellular, or WiFi infrastructure is preferred; an Associate's Degree in Engineering is required, while a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) is preferred.

Additional Requirements:



  • Willingness to work overnights and some weekends as required.


  • Must require NYCT track access training working in a subway environment and compliance with all local health authority and client requirements.

Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.

The expected salary for this position is $69,000 - $84,000.
