Division of Information Technology

Job Description

Provide high-level, professional IT support for the Division of Research, Innovation and Impact (RII) and other professional offices located in Jesse Hall. As part of the Division of Information Technology, this position is primarily responsible for advanced technical support (tier 2 and above). This position will provide excellent and courteous customer service and at times perform duties under limited supervision. It will work independently and in a team environment as necessary to collaborate with IT personnel for problem resolution. It will demonstrate leadership and provide tutelage to other support staff, including student workers.

Responsibilities include:

- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and research a variety of in-depth hardware and software issues/problems.

- Setup, install and support various hardware and software configurations including Mac and Windows OS support, desktop and laptop computers, tablets, smart phones, miscellaneous peripherals and enterprise applications.

-Determine and initiate appropriate and immediate actions needed to restore normal services with minimal down time. Communicate status, cause, and resolution to customers in a professional and timely manner.

- Use technology tools and resources including Active Directory/Azure, Lansweeper, JAMF, Teams, OneDrive, Bomgar (for remote support) etc. Utilize internal tools to AD Accounts, Security Groups, and Distribution Lists. Participate in technology working groups to advance concepts and practices for the entire university.

- Provide training/direction to faculty, staff, and students in the use of operating system software, supported device software, connectivity to campus networks and servers, and in resolution of complex hardware and software problems.

- Training and mentoring other technical staff in systems support responsibilities.

- Collaborate with other team members, and other IT support groups to maintain division wide continuity.

- Consult with end users to analyze their technological requirements including hardware, commercially available software, site-licensed software, or applications. Maintain advanced knowledge of new products, upgrades, and technologies.

Shift

Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm

Minimum Qualifications

-3 years of direct desktop/workstation support (hardware/software).
-Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
-Expansive knowledge of desktop/workstation hardware/software/operating systems (configuration and connectivity).
-Excellent technical knowledge and aptitude network file servers, applicable software, and troubleshooting techniques.
-Familiarity with systems administration and security principles.
-Familiarity with enterprise management technology for Windows and Macintosh platforms Familiarity with Active Directory and SCCM.
-Familiarity with installation, maintenance and support of wireless technologies.
-Strong verbal and written communication skills sufficient to interact with a variety of users and other technical staff.
-Strong customer service skills.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $52,915.20 - $65,000 Commensurate with experience
