• Schedule follow-up appointments with providers, and/or referrals at the direction of the APP/RN
• Assist patients in the exam room and prepare patients for examinations. Obtain and record pre-examination testing to include height, weight, BMI, and vital signs.
• Perform delegated clinical tasks including vital signs, urine collection, blood collection, injections, electrocardiograms, and routine dressing changes.
• Assist the health care team with specific treatments and procedures.
• Administer and document specified injections
• Document all clinical care provided.
• Provide appropriate follow-up communication with the health care team and patients.
• Support health care team as directed. This includes clinical assistance, medical record retrieval, communication with relevant parties, instrument sterilization, examination room preparation, filing, stocking, equipment care/maintenance, and front desk coverage.
• Order, stock, and maintain exam rooms and clinic area with standard levels of supplies and equipment.
• Perform minor housekeeping tasks to keep clinical areas in a clean and sanitary condition.
• Check clinic area and exam rooms for malfunctioning equipment, broken furniture, and general maintenance problems on a regular basis. Report findings to the appropriate person and/or arrange for repairs as required.
• Participate in skill development and training through in-service programs to enhance knowledge level and to ensure mastery of patient care procedures.
• Maintain a positive attitude and convey enthusiasm.
• Participate in a teamwork approach to responsibilities and activities within the clinic.
• Assist with onsite wellness events including BP screening events and other wellness programs
• Perform hearing screening on the employee population as assigned.
• Maintains patient confidentiality
  

• Certified Medical Assistant required successful completion of the AAMA, RMA/AMT, NCRMA (NAHP), NCMA(NCCT), RCMAS(NCMA), or CCMA(NHA).
• Five or more years of specific applicable MA experience in primary medical care may be substituted for formal training program provided eligibility for RMA (American Medical Technologists) exam.
• A valid CPR certification required upon hire and recertification required every two years.
• Two years' experience in an ambulatory care setting is preferred.
