DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will support maintenance repair personnel with daily tasks in various skilled trades, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general construction. Responsibilities include performing manual labor such as installing sheeting to studs, replacing light bulbs, cleaning work areas, and disposing of lumber and other used materials. You will assist with the preparation and painting of both interior and exterior surfaces and gain exposure to various trades through hands-on experience and mentorship from skilled maintenance staff. Additional duties include grounds maintenance activities such as cutting grass, trimming trees and shrubs, assisting with landscaping projects, removing weeds, dead branches, and debris, raking leaves, and clearing stones from roads and sidewalks. You will load and unload supplies and move furniture, office equipment, materials, and other items as directed. Seasonal responsibilities include removing snow and ice from roads, sidewalks, and parking areas using shovels, plows, blowers, or ice choppers. General custodial duties are also required, including cleaning floors, windows, walls, ceilings, and restrooms.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 7.5 hours per day, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 1st shift (7:00 AM to 3:00 PM), Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Conditions of Employment:

  • This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must possess a valid federal or state-issued photo ID and pass a favorable NCIC screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
