Summary:
Position reports to the Accounting Manager and assists the Payroll Supervisor to support the processing of payroll for the hospital and physician practices. This includes employee and hospital wage deduction, reconciliations, supporting managers with time and attendance issues, working with ADP to submit data files, reporting and submitting garnishments and payroll taxes, as well as, educating and supporting employees with payroll issues and questions. The Accounting/Payroll Technician will also support year-end processing of W2's and other government reports. This position will review and reconcile bank statements for the Lenoir Foundation, gift shop, and physician practices (excluding the payroll account) on a monthly basis within a specified time period. Support month end closing process by reviewing and reconciling month end cash clearing accounts related to patient accounts receivable, as well as reconciling patient and insurance company refunds. This will involve working with the PFS department and their leadership to ensure posting to the proper account. This position will also handle the hospital escheat program and work with hospital police to reconcile lost and found items. This requires an understanding of the hospital and State of NC escheat policy.

Responsibilities:
Key customers served include, but are not limited to the Accounting Manager, Payroll Supervisor, Finance Director, Accounting Analyst, and hospital employees. Responsibilities described above are also customer responsibilities. All customers are treated with courtesy and compassion. Responses to customers are timely and verified for accuracy and reasonableness. Issues or problems should be investigated and suggestions or opinions given on resolutions.

    EDUCATION High school graduate. Associates degree in accounting, business, or related field is preferred.EXPERIENCE2 years of payroll experience is required. Accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred.LICENSURE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATIONN/A
