Job Responsibilities
  • Involved with the analysis, design, development and implementation of new and/or existing systems/sub-systems. May include Architectural Design, Requirements Engineering, or others. Determine system specifications. Support acquisition of hardware and software (or subcontractor services as needed).
  • Responsible for leading group of engineers on a technical activity and completion of activity on time and budget
  • Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems
  • May use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments. Review customer specifications and requirements, and under direction, develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable
  • Provide budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments
  • Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services
  • Drive the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements
  • Develop prototypes to retire key development risks
  • Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required
  • Participate in preparation of proposals
  • Provide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnel
  • Lead and direct the work of others as assigned
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings
  • Lead less-experienced engineers
Job Responsibilities Part II
  • Demonstrates familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods and tools (e.g., Cameo, DOORS), or a willingness to learn and apply these practices.
  • Leads hands-on development and integration of embedded computing systems for airborne and shipboard products, including subsystem bring-up, interface integration, troubleshooting, and verification in a lab and production-representative environment.
  • Demonstrates practical experience with embedded hardware and software integration (e.g., CPU/SoC-based compute, real-time interfaces, board-level I/O, networking, serial buses) and system-level debug using lab instrumentation and engineering test tools.
  • Serves as technical lead for small to mid-scale work packages: decomposing scope, coordinating a matrix team (Systems, Hardware, Software, Mechanical, Test), establishing integration strategy, and driving execution to cost and schedule.
  • Produces and reviews engineering work products expected in delivered defense products, such as: System and Subsystem Architectures, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Requirements Allocations, Verification Plans and Procedures, Integration Plans, and Technical Risk Assessments.
  • Supports pursuit capture and proposals by developing technical approaches, solution architectures, compliance matrices, make-buy inputs, technical volumes, and risk-reduction plans (including prototype or demo concepts when needed).
  • Collaborates with production and test organizations to enable design for manufacture and test, including support for factory bring-up, acceptance test strategy, and resolution of integration and yield issues.
  • Develops skills in applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) or advanced automation techniques to support engineering analysis and decision-making.
  • This role is not primarily a software application development or requirements analysis-only; it requires hands-on embedded system integration and experience with end-item subsystem hardware and software product development.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 5 years of experience or a combination of.
  • Fluency in technologies and application domain
  • Ability to lead a technical group independently

U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
