Job Summary Under the direction of the Human Resources Director, this position serves as a professional-level subject matter expert in recruitment and selection, supporting faculty and staff hiring across the college. The role coordinates and leads recruitment and hiring activities for Adjunct and Residential Faculty, Part-Time Staffing, and Classified Staff, serving as a key campus partner throughout the employment process. This position performs complex, confidential work involving recruitment strategy, policy interpretation, and personnel actions, and provides data-driven recommendations to support effective hiring decisions. The incumbent works collaboratively in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment, delivering clear communication, accurate documentation, training, and analytical reporting while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and compliance. Essential Functions Recruitment Consultation and Hiring Support - 40% Provides professional-level consultation and assistance to campus HR partners and hiring managers to identify staffing needs and support recruitment and hiring activities for Adjunct Faculty, Residential Faculty, Part-Time Staffing, and Classified Staff. Serves as a primary point of contact throughout the employment process, offering guidance, composing correspondence, and communicating recruitment timelines, requirements, and outcomes. Works collaboratively to identify effective and innovative staffing solutions while maintaining a service-oriented approach. Policy Interpretation, Compliance, and Documentation - 30% Interprets, applies, and communicates district employment policies and procedures, as well as applicable state and federal employment laws and regulations. Reviews, verifies, and monitors paper and online HR documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance. Disseminates information to applicants, employees, managers, and administrators while ensuring confidentiality and adherence to institutional and regulatory requirements. Project Leadership and Independent Judgment - 15% Leads or participates in large-scale and/or complex recruitment-related projects or programs with significant operational impact. Exercises independent judgment and decision-making regarding recruitment strategies, personnel actions, and employee movement requests. Identifies opportunities for process improvement and supports continuous improvement initiatives. Data Analysis, Reporting, and Applicant Support - 10% Performs recruitment and personnel-related reporting and data analysis, including routine and ad hoc data requests. Maintains accurate and timely records to support informed decision-making and compliance. Serves as a pre-employment resource for applicants and potential hires. Other Duties as Assigned - 5% Performs other related duties as assigned to support Human Resources operations, departmental goals, and institutional priorities. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution and four (4) years of work experience in one or more areas of human resources, including talent acquisition/recruitment. Some assignments may require experience in a specific area of human resources work due to the nature of the intended responsibilities. Note: A bachelor's degree in any discipline from a regionally accredited institution and a current human resources certification from SHRM, or a similar certifying organization, or an undergraduate or graduate certificate in a human resources discipline from a regionally accredited institution, may substitute for the bachelor's degree in a related discipline as indicated above. OR An equivalent combination of the education and/or experience as described above, sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job, such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered. ADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS Positions in this class typically require: keyboarding, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. Working Conditions: Work is routinely performed in an indoor office environment. Some work may involve occasional outdoor environments with exposure to a variety of weather conditions, including rain, wind, dust, cold temperatures, and extreme desert heat. Work may involve high internal and/or external visibility. Travel: Work may involve travel to various locations throughout the District. Work Schedule: The Maricopa Community College District has functions that operate 24 hours per day, seven (7) days per week, 365 days per year. While a typical schedule consists of normal working hours during the week, due to the work associated with this classification, work during nights, weekends, holidays, or otherwise non-standard work times may occasionally be required.
