As the Director, Financial Reporting, you will lead our global external reporting function. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy, transparency, and timeliness of PPG's financial disclosures as a publicly traded, multinational organization. You will oversee SEC reporting, technical accounting, and financial governance processes while partnering closely with senior leadership across Finance, Legal, and Investor Relations. You will work a hybrid work schedule with 3 days onsite and 2 remote from our Pittsburgh, PA office. You will report to the VP of Finance. Main Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation, review, and filing of all SEC reports, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and other required disclosures.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and internal financial policies.
- Oversee the preparation of quarterly earnings materials and support Investor Relations with financial data and analysis.
- Manage XBRL tagging and quality control for all filings.
- Research, interpret, and implement new accounting standards and regulatory changes.
- Serve as our subject-matter expert on complex accounting areas such as revenue recognition, business combinations, impairments, and stock-based compensation. Develop and maintain global accounting policies and ensure consistent application across business units.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing financial reporting team.
- Collaborate with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Legal, and business unit finance teams to ensure accurate and complete financial information.
- Support strategic initiatives, including M&A activity, system implementations, and process transformation projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in accounting or financial reporting, ideally with a mix of Big Four public accounting and corporate reporting experience.
- Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and SOX compliance.
- Experience working in a large, global, publicly traded company strongly preferred.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience with ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle, and accounting consolidation tools such as HFM is strongly beneficial
