Communications / Structured Cabling Technician (EntryLevel to MidLevel) Location: Cedar Rapids, IA Position Type: FullTime Experience Level: EntryLevel to MidLevel About the Role We are seeking a motivated Communications / Structured Cabling Technician to join our growing team in Cedar Rapids. What You'll Be Doing * Pull, route, and drop copper and fiber cabling through walls, ceilings, and furniture systems using fish tape and approved methods * Perform pretermination tasks including organizing, dressing, labeling, and planning proper cable length and slack * Suspend and support cable using industrystandard methods such as cable tray, Jhooks, Drings, bridal rings, and trapeze systems * Build and organize telecommunications closets, including installing backboards, racks, patch panels, crossconnects, and fiberoptic hardware * Perform rackandstack work for telecommunications and networking equipment * Install grounding and bonding for racks, equipment, and cabling as required * Terminate lowvoltage devices according to project specifications and industry standards * Follow safety protocols, company procedures, and quality guidelines * Maintain a clean, safe, and organized worksite What We're Looking For * Interest in structured cabling, telecommunications, or data center work * Comfortable working in construction environments (indoor and outdoor) * Ability to work at heights, on ladders, and in confined spaces * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move up to 75 lbs * Willingness to learn and follow instructions, drawings, and blueprints * Strong attention to detail and safety awareness * Positive attitude, reliability, and strong teamwork skills Preferred Skills (Not All Required) * Cable installation or structured cabling experience * Punchdown termination * Lowvoltage systems experience * Rack and stack * Ability to read basic blueprints or project documentation (We encourage entrylevel applicants with handson experience, trade school, military, or related backgrounds to apply.) Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
