OVERVIEW:

Kent Denver School is seeking a part-time, experienced, energetic, and innovative Chinese Language Teacher for an upper and/or school position. The ideal candidate will exhibit a commitment to student-centered learning and the active, language-immersion classroom, a value of collaboration among teaching teams to build a meaningful and engaging curriculum, and a record of excellence in the classroom.

The teacher has experience teaching at all levels: Chinese I through AP Chinese Language and Culture.

This is a part-time position.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Teach two sections of upper school Chinese

  • Develop course curriculum, lessons, and policies in collaboration with other department teachers to ensure program consistency across same grade-level classes

  • Complete routine administrative work in a timely fashion and in accordance with our school policies and practices, including taking attendance, grading, comment writing, student-parent conferences, and office hours

  • Participate in department, division, all-school meetings, and professional development days

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in a field related to world language, preferred

  • Some experience teaching Chinese is ideal but willing to consider fluent Chinese speakers interested in entering the profession

Salary Range:

The annual salary range is approximately $25,000 - $45,000 depending on experience and qualifications. This is based on 40% of our full time faculty salary ranges.
