  • Remote operations and maintenance of power generation assets with expertise and experience in distributed generation.
  • Onsite routine maintenance of power generations assets and support equipment
  • Onsite routine maintenance of CHP equipment (steam and hot water boilers, chillers and associated auxiliary equipment)
  • Onsite oversight and maintenance of major maintenance evolutions and equipment upgrades



Position Summary


Candidate will gain broad experience as part of a team of professional operations and maintenance personnel responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of various Cordia plants consisting mainly of Jenbacher natural gas fired reciprocating engine gensets, CHP equipment in the region, starting, stopping of plant machinery and equipment consisting of chillers, boilers, CAT generators and associated equipment. The candidates "home office" will be the Cordia AHN Wexford Hospital CCHP located in Wexford, PA.



Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Operate, maintain, and repair reciprocating engine/generator sets and all associated balance of plant and support equipment.
  • Operate, maintain steam and hot water boilers, chillers, emergency diesel generators and all associated balance of plant and support equipment.
  • Perform site inspections to determine adherence to proper routine maintenance of reciprocating genset equipment and provide guidance to correct shortcomings
  • Assist with maintenance planning and scheduling of genset maintenance
  • Monitor and analyze operating data. Take action or direct onsite personnel on abnormal engine and plant conditions.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical malfunctions on engine/generator set and all other plant equipment.
  • Monitor and adjust emissions control systems (SCR) and reagent solution injection.
  • Maintenance and troubleshooting of AC/DC electrical power systems, and electronic and electromechanical control systems.
  • Work on-call shifts to support dispatch operations or planned and forced maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate with the remote operations team and dispatch to site as necessary.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Reciprocating engine-gensets, CHP equipment, HMI, SCADA and DAS operations experience
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of AC/DC circuits, electrical theory and control theory.
  • Understanding of integrated plant systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability on reciprocating engines, boilers, chillers, pumps, valves and compressors.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of PLC systems.
  • Ability to interpret complex electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Commitment to safety and environmental compliance.
  • Strong knowledge in the use of PCs and numerous software applications, including Excel, Word, MS Outlook, Power Point, etc.
  • Ability to work well independently or as an integral team member.
  • Ability to work extended hours on short notice when required.
  • Ability to be on-call during non-scheduled hours for repair & troubleshooting emergencies.


Desired Qualifications:



  • A.A.S or equivalent from a two-year college or tech school and two years of experience or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with Jenbacher reciprocating engine-gensets a plus


Physical Requirements/Work Environment:



  • The candidate will be subject to both office and power plant field conditions. Field conditions will include work in inclement weather and exposure to high noise and high heat conditions around rotating equipment
  • Ability to lift or exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including your own body
  • Ability to perform other physical activities including climbing ladders, use of fingers, stooping, crouching, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
  • Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision necessary to prepare and analyze data and figures, operate a computer terminal, differentiate wire coloring, and conduct extensive reading
