Why This Role Is Critical

The Mechanical Products (MP) Business Managers are expected to manage all aspects of the product lifecycle for their assigned product portfolio. They have product management, business management, and leadership responsibilities. They provide cross-functional leadership and drive key stakeholder and broader organizational alignment in the effective execution of inbound and outbound product management, including the setting of product pricing with both our suppliers and our customers which drives profitability for the portfolio. They also have overall responsibility for the smooth day-to-day business operations across the various resource groups, suppliers, and customers: providing direction and leadership to the support functions; managing critical operational issues; managing escalated supplier performance and delivery issues; and managing customer relationships and interfaces especially on emergent and/or problematic scopes of supply.



What You'll Do Day-To-Day

    Provides the MP Product Line Manager with consultation and support to aid them in the management of the strategic, commercial, and operational aspects of the MP business as a member of the MP Senior Leadership Team.
  • Leads the business planning process for a portfolio of MP product groups including the validation of business, technical, and resource allocation plans to meet or exceed broader business objectives. Specific product responsibilities could include advanced diagnostics, filtration solutions, fuel storage racks, steam generator repair hardware, commercial grade dedication, legacy mechanical products, hydrogen solutions, pressurizer heaters, control rod drive mechanisms, specialty cables, valves, reactor coolant pump seals, reactor upper internals, Small Modular Reactor applications, and new products.
  • Provides cross-functional leadership and drives key stakeholder and broader organizational alignment in the effective execution of inbound and outbound product management for a portfolio of MP product groups, including but not limited to the following:
    • Inbound Product Management: Product strategy and vision; obtaining VOC and market inputs; establishing market pricing/cost bases; maintaining competitive intelligence; defining features and requirements; building and maintaining roadmaps; supplier relationship management; and inventory/delivery strategies. Coordination with Framatome Product Development Team to bring products to MP portfolio.
    • Outbound Product Management: Competitive differentiation; positioning and messaging; naming and branding; product training materials; sales and support training; customer communication; product launches and release management - all coordinate with the Framatome marketing manager and team.
  • Ensures product strategies meet market needs and strengthen the NPC's position in the commercial nuclear power market; and provides updates on the status of product strategy implementation activities to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Provides cross-functional leadership across multiple NPC and non-NPC work groups in the effective execution of the NPC business from order in-take, order processing, product delivery, supplier management, and customer relationships; and is responsible for the financial performance of their assigned product portfolio from a profit and loss perspective
  • Supports the MP Product Line Manager in the management of revenue, cash flow, and cost declarations for their assigned product portfolio.
  • Identifies, develops, and manages a portfolio of strategic supplier agreements and relationships; leads supplier negotiations of scope, territory, pricing discounts, terms and conditions through close collaboration with senior management, legal, sales, and supply chain.
  • Collaborates with IB-Sales to establish and maintain favorable relationships with customer personnel, develop new product sales opportunities to meet customer needs, and make sales presentations to generate new business.
  • Collaborates with IB-Sales and Engineering to prepare and present business strategy proposals for market opportunities based on market trends and forecasting, including the identification of new products/suppliers to add to the MP product line portfolio.


What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, Business or related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience is required or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with all levels of staff and management, vendors and customers.
  • Ability to change priorities quickly, confront issues directly and work well as part of a team.
  • Skilled in building trust, listening actively, and tailoring messages to diverse audiences.


Total Rewards Package

  • Salary: $85,000-$116,000 and may also include annual incentives and performance bonuses. The base salary range is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
