Pay Grade Range: $19.00 - $28.11 (This is a representation of the position's entire pay grade range. Starting pay is based on an individual's skills, experience, and at the discretion of the hiring team.)

Status: This is a full-time; hourly position

Hours:
Flexible hours between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM Monday - Friday.

JOB SUMMARY: Under close to moderate supervision, perform basic drafting and design work using 2D & 3D computer-aided design ("CAD") applications, equipment or techniques and perform related duties as assigned. Must be able to work independently or as a team member to meet the assigned schedule while performing highly accurate work.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Identify and eliminate potential safety hazards in area.
  • Support all Continuous Improvement programs and company policies.
  • Respond to and send e-mails/phone calls with supervisor oversight.
  • Communicate with drafting supervisor on current jobs.
  • Deal with customer problems and needs with supervisor oversight.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and suggesting process improvements aimed at cost reduction and quality improvement.
  • Develop and draw production tickets/patterns send to customers when completed for approval with supervisor oversight.
  • Follow-up calls on jobs submitted for approval the previous week.
  • Communication and coordination with Project Manager, Sales and Production as required.
  • Prepare detailed drawings of architectural designs and plans for building and structures according to specifications provided by architect or designer with supervisor oversight.
  • Review complete job files and applicable drawings when given a new job - coordinate with Project Management and Stock Coordinator for stone marking with supervisor oversight.
  • Monitor and maintain projects in Access database.
  • Accompanied jobsite visits as required.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma with two years of post-secondary education or equal experience

    • We are looking to hire a full-time employee, however with the right candidate there is a potential for it to instead be offered as an internship.


  • 1 - 3 years of general drafting experience.
  • This position requires the basic knowledge and ability to read and interpret blueprints, architectural drawings and designs.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Basic product knowledge and/or industry knowledge.
  • AutoCAD Training and experience is a must.
  • A basic knowledge and understanding of 3D modeling software, preferably REVIT, and INVENTOR.
  • Basic knowledge with Microsoft Office.
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as a team.
