Position Title: CNC Machinist
Wage: $25-$30/hour Shift: 1st Hours: 8am-4:30 QPS is looking for a motivated CNC Machinist ready to put their skills to work on advanced equipment in a fast-paced, growth-focused manufacturing environment. This is an associate to hire role for a company in Franklin, WI. CNC Machinist Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Set up, adjust, and operate shop machine tools to perform complex machining operations on close-tolerance parts in a high-mix, short lead-time environment - Operate CNC machining equipment and supporting equipment to meet precise tolerance and finish requirements - Read and work from detailed drawings and specifications - Machine types include CNC Vertical Mills, CNC Horizontal Boring Mills, CNC Lathes, manual machines, and special-purpose machines - Perform work ranging from simple parts to large, complex, high-value components with critical tolerance requirements - Lay out and self-inspect workmanship - Diagnose and resolve tooling issues and machine malfunctions - Use a wide variety of precision measuring instruments and perform detailed inspections - Apply proper deburring techniques and operate deburring and finishing equipment - Actively participate in continuous improvement, Kaizen, and Lean manufacturing efforts - Perform general shop duties including material handling, simple deburring, non-skilled machining, and other production-related tasks - Follow all safety standards - Perform light housekeeping (5S) and basic preventative maintenance as assigned CNC Machinist Requirements: - High school diploma or GED - Trade school certificate preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience - Minimum 1 year of CNC machining experience (classroom experience counts) - Working knowledge of CNC and conventional machining principles - Basic understanding of G-code and M-code and ability to perform simple setups - Ability to use a tablet for scheduling and labor tracking - Knowledge of materials, fixtures, and appropriate tooling selection - Strong adherence to quality standards and drawing specifications - Strong sense of urgency and a "can-do" mindset with a focus on cost reduction - Effective verbal and written communication skills - Frequent standing, walking, talking, and use of hands - Occasional lifting of 10-50 pounds - Ability to maintain close vision and adjust focus - Must meet the physical and mental demands required to safely perform essential job functions QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
