The Ohio State University Medical Center is committed to enhancing the quality of care provided to patients and the service provided to visitors and employees. The Weapons Screening function is tasked to provide a safe, secure environment in all areas of the Departments responsibility.

Under the general supervision of Security Enforcement Manager, the Weapons Screening Supervisor serves as the primary weapons screener contact on their assigned shift, and is responsible for all supervisory functions for contracted weapons screeners working on their assigned shift. This includes staff that carries out weapons screening functions in every area of the Departments Scope of operations. This position is responsible for the day to day operations of weapons screening staff and operations at the Medical Center, and will oversee their assigned shifts daily operations at all areas of responsibility remote from The OSU Medical Center.

Patrols, monitors, investigates and communicates regarding all aspects of Weapons Screening. Incumbent is the first line of contact for a department which is tasked with the responsibility of providing a safe, secure environment for staff, visitors and patients within their assigned area of responsibility.

Operations at all sites are conducted 24 hours per day 7 days a week.

Responsibilities include actively promoting an Intensive Caring image in support of absolute customer satisfaction.

Provides leadership and oversight for the public entry screening program, specifically supervising contracted personnel responsible for weapons detection at designated entry points. This role supports the Medical Centers commitment to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all patients, visitors and staff by ensuring effective weapons detection operations and adherence to established

protocols. Ensures that all contracted staff adhere to the policies and procedures of the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and the Department of Security. Follows up on incidents to proactively reduce liability risks, supports training and quality assurance efforts, and maintains accountability for operational standards and budget compliance by auditing timekeeping invoices. Acts as the primary liaison between the department and contracted staff, ensuring effective communication and performance alignment. Must be willing to work evenings, nights, and weekends.
