Responsibilities:

The Logistics Shift Captain plays a critical leadership role in ensuring Albuquerque Ambulance Service operates smoothly, efficiently, and safely. This position serves as the onshift expert in all logistics functions, performing the full scope of Logistics Technician duties while guiding and supporting the team.

As the Logistics Shift Captain, you will coordinate and assign daily tasks for shift personnel, acting as the primary logistics point of contact for all Albuquerque Ambulance departments during operations. You'll oversee the endtoend flow of ambulance processing to ensure vehicles are cleaned, restocked, and deploymentready-always maintaining strict adherence to OSHA guidelines, AAS SOG requirements, pharmacy regulations, and all relevant compliance standards.

You will train new team members, promote best practices, and support a highperformance culture focused on safety, accuracy, and service excellence. Your responsibilities also include managing costeffective inventory control, preventing loss or waste of equipment and supplies, and maintaining pharmaceutical items in accordance with all regulatory expectations.

This role is ideal for a skilled logistics professional who enjoys leading others, solving operational challenges, and contributing directly to the readiness and quality of emergency medical services in our community.

How you support the community.

  • Maintain expertlevel knowledge of EMS equipment, ambulance inventory, and AAS cleaning and disinfecting practices.
  • Perform all Logistics Technician duties while assigning daily tasks, training new staff, and serving as the onshift logistics contact for all departments.
  • Oversee ambulance processing, ensuring vehicles are cleaned, disinfected, stocked, and deploymentready according to OSHA guidelines, AAS SOGs, and all regulatory requirements.
  • Clean, wash, vacuum, and inspect ambulances and company vehicles, addressing both interior and exterior areas and reporting any damage or safety concerns.
  • Inspect and clean emergency warning systems and vehicle components such as lights, belts, horns, tires, and batteries as directed.
  • Manage inventory control, monitor supply usage, ensure accurate checkin/checkout procedures, and maintain proper stock levels.
  • Perform equipment maintenance and functionality checks on medical and support devices, using CDCcompliant disinfectants and proper biohazard protocols.
  • Conduct scheduled and random drug box audits, maintain pharmaceutical compliance, manage expirations, and handle narcotics through the designated Narc station process.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.

Shift Differentials

  • $1.75/hr Night Differential, earned on eligible night hours, stacks on base rate.

  • $1.50/hr Weekend Differential, earned on eligible weekend hours, stacks on base rate.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read, write, follow instructions, multitask, stay organized, and work independently.
  • Completion of an EMTBasic course or current New Mexico EMTBasic license preferred.
  • Specialized stockingpractices training required within nine months of hire.
  • Valid New Mexico driver's license required.
  • Ability to type 20 wpm and basic proficiency with MS Windows preferred.
