Job Description Summary
Our Nurse Residency Program and Specialty specific orientation programs will provide you with increased clinical support and education during orientation.
There are many additional benefits available to you as a nurse at Cooley Dickinson. You will have access to tuition reimbursement programs, loan forgiveness programs, free contact hour courses for license renewal, free AHA certifications as required for your role and paid educational time to complete them at CDH. Cooley Dickinson Hospital also offers a Mentorship program which is designed to help transition to a professional nursing role during your first year of clinical practice. The program fosters trust, vulnerability, empathy, and respect. It begins at the conclusion of your orientation and lasts throughout your first year here at Cooley. You will be paid an hour of time biweekly to meet with a mentor of your choice, at a time most convenient for you, about topics that are most important to you. Benefits to these mentorship programs include increased confidence, satisfaction, and collaborative relationships.
Nurse Residency Program placements are based on available positions at the time of hire, and may include:
Medical/Surgical
Telemetry
Resource (Float) Pool
Emergency Department
Operating Room
Inpatient Behavioral Health
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until all spaces are filled.
Acceptance into the program will be based on the following:
* Application
* Resume & cover letter indicating the department(s) where you are interested in working
* Interview

Program Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse graduate from an accredited school of nursing

  • Current American Heart Association BLS Certification

  • Demonstrated excellent technical, interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills required

  • Additional unit-specific education and experience requirements are outlined in the Addendum for each unit.
