To strengthen our team in Ann Arbor,
we are looking for you as a(n) Procurement Intern 2026.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our Direct Procurement team. This internship offers hands-on experience and will provide technical expertise to evaluate packaging requirements for multiple plant sites and coordinating with key users, business leaders, and Wacker Germany. This includes conducting on-site plant trials including holding multiple meetings and sessions to further evaluate possible packaging solutions including collection of usage and cost data with a focus on localizing our supply base. Additional internship experience will also include assisting in the evaluation of contract manufacturing suppliers (Tollers) and will work closely with our Strategic Procurement Manager, Plant Engineers, Product / Sales Management, Supply Chain, and Quality to further develop Wacker's Tolling capabilities and overall strategy.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with technical & commercial development of localized packaging options
  • Conduct research, compile data including Total Cost Analysis for each mode of packaging options
  • Support team members in further developing Tolling Strategy
  • Attend team meetings and contribute ideas
  • Prepare reports, presentations, or documentation as needed
  • Create and present a Project Presentation at the end of the internship
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Rising sophomore or higher pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, Biology or similar degree.
  • Available full-time in person (Mon-Fri) for our 12-week program
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Eagerness to learn and take initiative
  • Experience with Packaging preferred
  • Knowledge of biochemistry preferred
