General Purpose Manage all aspects of the plant maintenance function and related capital and expense projects. Provide leadership and direction to the plant maintenance organization through the Maintenance Manager, ensuring the reliability, safety, and effectiveness of all plant equipment and infrastructure. Lead the identification, planning, and execution of capital improvement projects to support business continuity, safety, quality, and productivity. Work closely with plant leadership and DFA enterprise functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational objectives, standards, and financial controls. Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide direct leadership, direction, and accountability to the Maintenance Manager to ensure effective execution of maintenance strategies, priorities, and departmental objectives.
- Collaborate with plant and senior management to identify, justify, and prioritize capital and expense projects that improve safety, reliability, regulatory compliance, and operational performance.
- Lead the planning, budgeting, and execution of capital projects, including scope development, contractor coordination, schedule management, and cost control.
- Ensure all capital and maintenancerelated projects comply with DFA requirements, including AFE approval processes, management of change, safety, GMP, and applicable regulatory standards.
- Oversee the development and execution of preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize asset reliability and minimize unplanned downtime.
- Serve as the escalation point for critical maintenance issues that impact production, safety, quality, or regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate maintenance and capitalrelated materials, contractor services, and purchasing activities to support costeffective and timely execution of work.
- Provide oversight and accountability for Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) inventory management, ensuring inventory levels are optimized to support equipment reliability and business continuity while remaining within approved budget targets. Partner with the Maintenance Manager and applicable site resources to ensure critical spares are appropriately identified, inventory accuracy is maintained, obsolete or excess materials are minimized, and MRO practices comply with DFA inventory, financial, and control standards.
- Develop and monitor maintenance, capital, and reliabilityrelated KPIs to drive continuous improvement in asset performance, cost control, and execution discipline.
- Foster a strong safety culture by ensuring all maintenance and project activities comply with DFA safety programs, OSHA requirements, and plant EHS expectations.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Operations Management, or a related discipline preferred.
Equivalent combination of education and progressive work experience may be substituted on a yearforyear basis. - 8 or more years of progressive experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, with demonstrated leadership responsibility within maintenance operations.
- Minimum of 3 years of management or leadership experience overseeing maintenance teams, maintenance supervisors, or maintenance programs.
- Demonstrated experience leading capital and expense projects, including scope development, budgeting, contractor coordination, and project execution within an operating plant environment.
- Working knowledge of maintenance reliability practices, asset management, and preventive and predictive maintenance programs in a continuousoperation or food manufacturing facility.
- Experience with MRO inventory management, including inventory optimization, budget control, critical spare identification, and compliance with inventory control and financial governance standards.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing maintenance systems, equipment reliability principles, and asset lifecycle management.
- Strong project management, organizational, and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and translate information into actionable plans.
- Effective leadership, coaching, and communication skills across all levels of plant operations.
- Working knowledge of SAP, CMMS platforms, and standard project management and reporting tools.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, manage risk, and make informed decisions aligned with business objectives.
