Maintenance Mechanics resolve routine maintenance issues independently, including installing minor piping runs and electrical systems. These individuals perform a wide variety of duties to keep facility safety systems, mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, physical structures, and grounds in proper working order.

Responsibilities

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
* Complete required facility safety permitting prior to job execution.
* Complete all jobs correctly and timely to ensure quality and customer satisfaction.
* Install, troubleshoot, and maintain systems of simple to moderate complexity along with various pieces of equipment.
* Responsible for basic facility maintenance, such as shoveling walkways, changing light bulbs, hanging shelving, etc.
* Move facility materials and equipment by using hoists, rollers, and/or other lifting aids such as forklifts.
* Disassemble equipment to repair or replace parts.
* Assist with reassembling equipment in a manner that ensures proper equipment operation.
* Fabricate wooden, metal, or plastic facility needs with machine tools, welders, and/or cutting torches.
* Utilize company vehicle to pick up and deliver parts and equipment.
* Working in confined space, elevated heights and with and around hazardous materials.
* Maintain assigned and shared department tooling.
* Actively participate in lean activities and continuous improvement.
* Responsible for writing maintenance procedures, as required.
* Stand (up to 50% of the time), walk (up to 75% of the time), push/pull (up to 50% of the time), lift (up to 40% of the time), reach (up to 40% of the time), bend 90 degrees (up to 25% of the time), kneel (up to 25% of the time), climb (up to 25% of the time), squat/crouch (up to 20% of the time), twist 45 degrees (up to 10% of the time), and sit (up to 10% of the time).
* Frequently lift materials between ten and 35 pounds and occasionally lift materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
* Ability to wear a respirator substantiated via quantitative fit testing and Level A personal protective equipment.

Qualifications

WORK EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED
* Three to seven years manufacturing maintenance experience
PREFERRED
* Understanding of the operation of facility equipment and processes
* Familiarity with an equipment and asset management software i.e. INFOR
* Working knowledge of electrical infrastructure
* Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement
* Experience working with Process Safety Management (PSM)

EDUCATION
REQUIRED
* High school diploma or equivalent
PREFERRED
* Technical training relevant to the job.

CERTIFICATIONS
REQUIRED
* Valid driver's license
PREFERRED
* Trade certification relevant to the job
* Haz-Mat Certification

* Confined Space
* Forklift Certification
