About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will develop software to be used for medical manufacturing equipment. You will work as part of a software team with the objective of developing a robust, reliable software framework and related supporting software.

This position will be located at our facility in Phoenix or Flagstaff, Arizona, with the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement.

Responsibilities
  • Create modular C# software for regulated medical manufacturing equipment
  • Develop data storage, data sharing, logging, GUI software modules, etc
  • Utilize standard communication interfaces for integration to divisional manufacturing systems
  • Generate software utilizing deployment packages
  • Automate processes (e.g., CI/CD, test execution, reporting, tracking, etc.)
  • Utilize software development using object-oriented designs
  • Implement unit testing of common software using C#
  • Collaborate with software development teams and manufacturing teams for integrations
  • Create and/or update software design documents, specifications, and inline source documentation
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and/or improve the common software platform
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related degree
  • Minimum 6 years of experience developing in C#, or 8 years combined of programming 'higher level' object-oriented software languages (C#, C , VB.NET, Java, etc.)
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams and contributing new ideas and concepts to solve technical challenges
  • Experience utilizing formal software development processes
  • Proven track record communicating technical ideas and concepts to a broad audience with various backgrounds
  • Strong customer service mindset needed to support manufacturing requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, prioritize and complete technical projects along with daily unplanned tasks
  • Ability and willingness for 10% travel

Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of controls platforms and systems including PLCs, motion control, machine vision systems, Standalone Controllers (e.g., Temperature controllers, pressure controllers, etc.).
  • Understanding of manufacturing process data, industrial control systems and familiarity in cloud integration needs (e.g., security, certificates, queues, message brokers, data storage, etc.).
  • Experience working in a highly regulated, hands-on medical device manufacturing environment

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement in the country from which the Associate is employed. Eligibility is dependent on the responsibilities of the role and business needs, and the Associate must agree to comply with Gore's work arrangement policies.
