**This role will be hybrid - 3 in-office days weekly in Pittsburgh or Memphis**

Additional Summary:

This product owner will lead scrum teams supporting technical backend systems within the P&D Run and Close ART. The Run and Close ART is focused both on Pickup applications (Common, Legacy Express, and Legacy Ground) and end of day close operations. In addition to backend systems, the candidate will also support ART testing teams. This product owner will be part of a team that leads Ops Technology Product Management into future state, working on projects including Systems Modernization, Common Dispatch PFS, and Global Pickup and Delivery Ecosystem.

Product Owner Summary:

Works with Product Management and stakeholders to understand the Features and with the ScrumMaster and Agile Team to develop smaller, incremental stories and iteration deliverables based on those Features. Will work with other Product Owners and stakeholders to define and prioritize stories and determine dependencies. Owns the team backlog, defining stories, establishing story acceptance criteria and leading story refinement for preparation of iteration planning and program increment planning. so that the solutions effectively address program priorities.

Sr Product Owner Summary:

Understands and supports prioritized Portfolio and Value Stream work by collaborating with Solution Architect, Business Architect, Product Manager and stakeholders to breakdown features into user stories. Manages the delivery of business value by owning the team backlog, defining stories, establishing story acceptance criteria and leading story refinement for preparation of iteration planning and program increment planning.

Strategic Product Owner Summary:

Leads the cross-functional Scrum development team to deliver valuable product enhancements and integrations. Understands, analyzes, documents, refines and communicates business needs so business and/or technical delivery teams can build effective solutions.

Product Owner Essential Functions:

  • Assists in managing requirements and prioritization within the Product Backlog through: business value ROI, alignment with Product Strategy, and resource capacity.
  • Build and leverage solid working relationships with business and product stakeholders
  • Assist in the integration of programs across channels with internal partners and manages program effectiveness against target metrics Utilize effective communication skills to surface essential requirements information.
  • Under general supervision, define and clearly articulate requirements (User Stories) and acceptance criteria (Use Cases)
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Sr Product Owner Essential Functions:

  • Provides input and feedback to Epic Owners on new and existing epics, understands stakeholder and customer needs.
  • Reviews and accepts user stories throughout the iteration as developed functionality is completed by the team (develop on cadence).
  • Acts as customer advocate for team questions and seeks out opportunities to connect the team with end users, stakeholders and customers to develop and improve their understanding and empathy of end user needs.
  • Interacts with stakeholders during iteration demos, or individually, to show the most critical aspects of a solution and negotiate the reality of systems solutions.
  • Collaborates with Product Manager, Release Management, stakeholders, and team to define and plan for releases (Release on Demand).
  • Participates in the iteration demo and retrospective meetings to inspect and adapt the product or solution for the next iteration and the team's process for improvements in how they work to build solution increments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Strategic Product Owner Essential Functions:

  • Supports prioritized Portfolio and Value Stream work by leading the creation and definition of solution(s) and capabilities for one or more epics through collaboration with Portfolio representatives, IT Solution Architect(s), Business Architect(s), Epic Owner(s) and Product Management.
  • Leads and collaborate with Product Managers to ensure understanding of defined capabilities and enable translation into features and stories for the appropriate Agile Release Train(s) team backlog(s).
  • Leads prioritization and sequencing of defined capabilities on the Solution Kanban and backlog through understanding and support of defined solution intent and highlighting any known dependencies and milestones.
  • Collaborates with Solution/Product Managers supporting other programs and value streams to determine cross-solution impacts, interdependency of work and priorities, and development and deployment of communications plans for the larger solution.
  • Leads the solution demonstration to evaluate business value delivered against the business defined acceptance criteria.
  • Train, develop and coach junior staff
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Product Owner Level:

  • Strong analytical, computer and communication skills required.
  • Knowledge of Agile and Lean values/concepts and scaling with SAFe framework required.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand complex ideas, break them down into smaller, sequential plan, while understanding interdependencies to deliver solutions.
  • Uses solutions-based thinking in problem solving, asking probing questions and looking for underlying issues. 
  • Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office and web-based applications. 

 Sr PO Level:

  • Knowledge of Agile and Lean values/concepts and scaling with Safe framework required.
  • Systems subject matter expert technical knowledge to partner with technical leads as it relates to stories and the Agile Release Train.
  • Uses solutions-based thinking in problem solving, asking probing questions and looking for underlying issues.
  • Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
  • Strong influencing skills to guide a team to understand Program Features and the impact to the story and iteration deliverables.
  • Strong influencing skills with customers and Product Managers to understand the system and iteration capabilities for deliverables.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills necessary to develop stories and to inform team and stakeholders.
  • Business acumen and ability to understand the larger company strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand complex ideas, break them down into smaller, sequential plan, while understanding interdependencies to deliver solutions.

Strategic PO Level:

  • Must possess strong leadership, analytical, human relations, computer, communication skills, and planning and organizing abilities.
  • Must be able to collaborate with business areas, systems users, and technical developers.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, information systems or related area required. Additional related experience may offset degree requirements.

Minimum Experience

B8049 - Product Owner

Two (2) years' experience in industry or supporting business or technologies that includes Project Management experience and/or SAFe Product Manager/Owner experience. Additional related skills, education/degree may offset experience requirements.

B8050 - Sr Product Owner

Four (4) years of relevant job experience as a key member of a project team (waterfall, agile, etc.) developing business processes or solutions, creating business requirements and delivering business capabilities required. More advanced degrees may offset experience requirements. A related master's degree equals two (2) years experience.

B8051 - Strategic Product Owner

Six (6) years' experience in industry or supporting business or technologies that includes Project Management experience. Demonstrated functional SME experience developing business processes or solutions, creating business requirements and delivering business capabilities required. Additional related skills, education/degree may offset experience requirements.

If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law.
