Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) invites applications for a full-time appointment as Professor of Professional Practice to serve as the faculty director of the MPA program in Development Practice (DP) and the co-director of the concentration in Development and Governance (D&G). The DP program and the D&G concentration train current and aspiring practitioners to design and lead evidence-based approaches to sustainable and inclusive economic growth, human development, and effective governance.

The Professor of Professional Practice will serve as the academic leader of the DP program and co-leader of the D&G concentration, recruiting instructors and guest lecturers for courses, seminars and workshops, overseeing academic advising of students, and sustaining strategic partnerships and a strong alumni community.

Applicants will have a demonstrated record of outstanding professional accomplishment and at least 10 years of significant experience in a governmental, private, non-profit or multilateral organization. Candidates also must be willing and able to continue to make significant contributions in their field of practice and knowledge. Preferred candidates will be economists, hold a graduate degree (PhD or equivalent preferred), and possess university-level teaching experience or show strong promise to succeed as an instructor in a demanding academic environment.
