Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor to join our team of diverse, qualified individuals. The Quality Assurance Supervisor works at the United States Postal Service (USPS) Central Repair Facility (CRF) in Topeka, KS. The CRF is a depot repair facility for USPS mail processing, delivery, and bulk mail systems repairable parts. Examples: repairing printed circuit boards, electrical, electronic, mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies to component level. The CRF provides depot level maintenance for essential automation, mechanization, retail and bulk mail processing systems used in all mail processing and retail installations.

Our Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for the quality program administered under the ISO 9001:2015 requirements. Supervises the quality personnel who perform inspections of mechanical, electrical, electronic equipment and evaluates repair specifications developed in support of the Central Repair Facility operation. Specific tasks include:

    Coordinate internal audits and responds to customer concerns in support of continual improvement of the CRF Management System
  • Maintain records, files and logs in support of ISO requirements
  • Oversee and train Internal Auditors to perform operational audits
  • Coordinate corrective or preventive actions to identify root cause and mitigate risk
  • As the Management Representative ensures ISO guidelines are followed
  • Participates in management review meetings, supervises quality department personnel, updates and writes work instructions relating to quality department procedures
  • Works with internal and external customers in resolving quality issues, leads the material review board, and provides special reports as required
  • Assist program manager on matters pertaining to ISO requirements and investigates unique problems as required
  • Ensure that all aspects of the Management System conform to customer requirements and ISO guidelines
  • Extensive contacts with internal personnel and outside customer representatives at various management levels concerning operations or scheduling or specific phases of projects or contracts
  • Conduct briefings and participates in technical meetings for internal or external representatives concerning specifics operations
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 years with Bachelor's, 3 years with Master's (or high school diploma/ged with equivalent combination of training and professional work experience that provides the required knowledge and skills)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship required (Must have resided in the U.S. for the past five years with no more than six months travel outside the U.S. during this timeframe)
  • Five years of experience inspecting workmanship of mechanical, electrical and electronic components and assemblies
  • A working knowledge of ANSI/ISO/ASQ Q9001: 2015 standards and associated series
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Quality Systems Lead or Internal Auditor based on the International Organization for Standardization criteria for ISO 9001:2015 or associated series
  • Depot level repair experience
  • Prior management experience in a Union environment
  • Lean Six Sigma and ISO 9001 experience or training

Physical Requirements:

  • Sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
  • Physical activity may include reaching, walking, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motion
  • Have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures

Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
