Could you be the full-time onsite Special Process Expert in West Mifflin, PA, US we're looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your industrial expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.
You'll play a pivotal role in coordinating the industrial control of Special Processes (SP) across various stages, from tender phase to manufacturing and warranty, ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (Production, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain), contribute to technology transfers, and support supplier qualifications and process improvements, and much more.

We'll look to you for:

  • Providing clear problem analysis (root causes, associated risks) and solutions in case of major Special Process (SP) quality crises,

  • Controlling external communication (written and oral) to align with Alstom's standards and responsibilities,

  • Contributing to the tender phase by considering industrial constraints and requirements to optimize costs and minimize risks,

  • Managing industrial risks through Process FMEA and implementing improvement action plans,

  • Defining requirements and rules for tooling necessary to start production and qualifying the product/process pair and industrial means,

  • Supporting sourcing and supplier quality teams in supplier qualification and quality follow-up for Special Processes,

  • Ensuring the deployment and validation of new processes in alignment with project planning and issuing relevant documentation in the Quality System,

  • Participating in meetings and working groups of the Special Process network and proposing improvement ideas and evolution of business rules within the domain.

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That's why we don't expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we've listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Degree in process engineering, mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering,

  • Knowledge or experience in materials engineering, bonding, gluing, or painting in the rail or automotive industry is preferred,

  • Experience in practicing special processes (execution, definition, qualification),

  • Knowledge of Quality, EHS, and Ergonomics standards,

  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP), CAD, and PLM tools (e.g., CATIA, DELMIA),

  • Skilled with IS tools, Process FMEA, and QRQC methodologies,

  • Good teaching skills and ability to provide training to groups,

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Things you'll enjoy

Join us on a life-long transformative journey - the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You'll also:

  • Work with cross-functional teams across Production, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, and Engineering to ensure the industrial control of Special Processes (SP) during various project phases,

  • Progress towards becoming a key contributor to innovative solutions in the sustainable rail industry, while driving quality, safety, and continuous improvement,

  • Contribute to innovative projects,

  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries,

  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, 401k).

You don't need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you'll be proud. If you're up for the challenge, we'd love to hear from you!
