Description

Markon is seeking a talented UI/UX Designer to join a team developing innovative software solutions supporting Sponsor Entitlement Programs, IdAM/ICAM, Authentication, Authorization, Attribute Management, and Digital Policy Management initiatives.

Our team supports mission-critical, high-visibility applications used by a broad customer base. We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented professional who can bridge design and development to deliver intuitive, secure, and accessible web experiences for both administrators and end users.



Responsibilities

    Design and develop custom, accessible WordPress websites with a strong focus on user experience and usability
  • Create well-structured, maintainable WordPress themes from the ground up
  • Develop custom WordPress plugins to support site functionality and integrations
  • Support both front-end and back-end development, including theme implementation, plugin integration, and site customization
  • Optimize website performance, including back-end efficiency, database integration, and server interactions
  • Conduct website performance testing and implement enhancements to improve site speed and reliability
  • Monitor live site performance and troubleshoot content, functionality, and UX issues
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, developers, QA, and stakeholders
  • Contribute to QA testing, unit testing, and bug resolution
  • Apply Agile development methodologies in a fast-paced, multi-project environment
  • Recommend appropriate tools, technologies, and solutions to improve workflows and product delivery


Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph
  • Bachelor's degree and 8-12 years of relevant experience
  • Strong understanding of usability and accessibility standards across multiple device types
  • Experience with WordPress front-end development using:
    • HTML5
    • SASS (or equivalent CSS preprocessor) / CSS
    • JavaScript
  • Experience with WordPress back-end development using:
    • PHP
    • MySQL
    • WP REST API
    • JSON
  • Experience developing custom WordPress features and functionality
  • Experience creating and maintaining WordPress plugins
  • Experience producing unit tests and supporting QA efforts
  • Experience developing and testing for accessibility compliance

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to balance hands-on technical work with strategic design thinking


Salary Range

USD $180,000.00 - USD $210,000.00 /Yr.

The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
