Specific Duties

  • Conduct health assessments and implement nursing care plans.
  • Diagnose and treat individuals' responses to health problems through nursing services, including case-finding, health teaching, and counseling.
  • Execute medical regimens prescribed by licensed health care providers.
  • Serve as a member of interdisciplinary health care teams and committees to plan and implement care.
  • Coordinate, direct, and provide nursing care; administer treatments and procedures within guidelines and prescriptions.
  • Consult on nursing matters with treatment teams and other disciplines.
  • Provide clinical supervision and training to lower-level staff on nursing care activities.
  • Participate in staff training, prepare reports, maintain infection control standards, and function as a team member.
  • Act as a charge nurse or unit supervisor as needed.
  • Ensure patient safety, comfort, and meet emotional and spiritual needs.
  • Perform nursing procedures with skill and judgment.
  • Assist with patient rehabilitation as directed by a physician.
  • Observe, record, and report pertinent information to supervisors and physicians.
  • Manage medications and complete required documentation accurately.
  • Report patient status to supervisors consistently.
  • Practice standard precautions consistently.
  • Perform duties promptly and competently with care.
  • Maintain effective communication with patients/residents and healthcare personnel.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Operate and handle various medical equipment.
  • Frequently lift/move between 50-100 pounds as required by assignments.
  • Stand for long periods with frequent squatting, twisting, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Comply with all facility policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Assist with transfers and ambulation.


Requirements

  • Currently registered in New York State.
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and comply with testing and future vaccine mandates.
