Job Summary The Safety Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the safety and regulatory compliance of technicians working on large-scale commercial construction and data center projects within the telecom and low voltage industry. This role focuses on conducting site audits, enforcing safety standards, leading safety training, investigating incidents, and promoting a proactive safety culture. The Safety Coordinator partners closely with field technicians, project managers, supervisors, and client safety teams to reduce risk, prevent incidents, and maintain a safe working environment. The schedule is Monday through Friday with a 6:00 a.m. or 7:00 a.m. start time, and overtime is required as project needs demand. Job Responsibilities * Conduct daily site safety walks and audits across active data center and construction work areas * Ensure all technicians follow established safety policies, PPE requirements, and client standards * Lead or assist with daily toolbox talks, safety briefings, and site-specific training sessions * Identify hazardous conditions and implement corrective and preventive actions * Document incidents, near misses, safety violations, and corrective actions in a timely manner * Investigate accidents, injuries, and safety concerns to determine root causes and recommend solutions * Inspect facilities, ladders, lifts, tools, and equipment to verify safe and compliant use * Maintain safety logs, reports, compliance records, and statistical safety data * Review project plans and specifications to confirm safety requirements are met * Support emergency response procedures and participate in drills as needed * Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, and client safety representatives to ensure alignment on safety expectations * Promote and reinforce a positive, proactive safety culture among field staff Job Requirements * Minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety management role within a construction environment * Experience in construction safety, preferably in low voltage, electrical, telecom, or data center environments * Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, jobsite safety standards, and risk mitigation practices * Experience conducting safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations * Ability to lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions effectively * Familiarity with PPE requirements, hazard identification, and safe work practices * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Ability to enforce safety policies confidently and professionally * Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word for reporting and documentation * Experience with safety management software, digital inspection tools, incident tracking systems, and learning management systems * Basic familiarity with plan reading tools such as Bluebeam (preferred) * Ability to stand and walk job sites for extended periods throughout the shift * Ability to complete new employee orientation and site-specific orientation requirements Education * High school diploma or equivalent required * Additional safety training or coursework preferred Work Experience * At least 5 years of related safety experience in large-scale commercial construction environments Benefits * Health insurance * Dental insurance * Vision insurance * 401(k) Additional Job Details (Commute, Attendance, etc.) * Schedule: Monday through Friday * Start time: 6:00 a.m. or 7:00 a.m. depending on project needs * Overtime required based on project demands * Work environment: Large-scale commercial construction and data center projects * Required PPE: Composite toe boots
