LPN

Under the direction of a registered nurse, physician, or other licensed health care provider in accordance with Article 139 of the Education Law, the candidate will:

• Perform nursing care tasks and procedures consistent with individual treatment plans.
• Administer medications as prescribed to maintain health, prevent and cure illness and injury, and alleviate suffering using practical knowledge of health processes and facility procedures.
• Assist registered nurses, physicians, or other licensed health care providers in the identification of individuals' needs.
• Obtain and record temperatures, blood pressures, pulse rates, and other vital signs using standard instruments.
• Identify responses to medications and changes in health status; report such to a registered nurse or physician.
• Maintain charts and other records of administered treatments and/or conditions.
