Overview

In this role, you will be responsible, as a design professional, for the production of innovative, appropriate, cost effective, designs, drawings and specifications in your discipline for assigned projects. You will maintain professional registration and sign/seal documents prepared under your supervision.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conceptual Design
    • Utilizes innovation in design and methods
    • Develops design concepts, recommends systems and produces pricing and proposal documents and outline specifications.
    • Researches and is responsible for discipline design compliance with proposal/client criteria.
    • Establish discipline basis of design
  • Detailed Design
    • Analysis Ability
      • Researches, documents and is responsible for discipline design compliance with all applicable codes, ordinances, standards and regulations.
      • Designing for safety incorporated into drawings.
    • Detailing
      • Comply with the QIP
      • Uses Haskell standards and procedures
      • Coordinates work with other disciplines, including outside consultants as applicable. Performs interdisciplinary coordination check to minimize deficiencies, errors and omissions in drawings and specifications.
    • Leads the production of well-organized, finished drawings of good appearance, accuracy, clarity and correctness.
  • Construction Documents
    • Signs and seals design documents when assigned as Professional of Record.
  • Construction Support
    • Reviews applicable shop drawings and submittal data for compliance with construction documents.
    • Advises and assists Construction Project Managers, Superintendents and Subcontractors in the interpretation and clarification of construction documents.
    • Participates in construction observation to monitor compliance with design intent, construction drawings and specifications. Prepares inspection reports and punch lists.
    • Provides solutions to field problems, responds to RFI's and prepares field orders and addenda.
    • Leads production and archiving of record drawings and specifications.
  • Planning/Scheduling
    • Projects, monitors and informs design manager of workload status of project discipline staff.
    • Participates in project strategy meetings.
    • Participates in creation of overall key date schedule, including permitting schedule.
    • Creates discipline work plan for assigned projects
  • Profitability
    • Prepares man-hour estimate for discipline work.
    • Assists Design Manager in monitoring costs of discipline-related outside consultants.
    • Participates in team review to assure discipline scope is covered in project budgets, estimates and subcontractor bids.
  • Project Management
    • Directs technical efforts of discipline staff assigned to the project.
    • Monitors discipline adherence to strategy, key date schedule and work plan.
    • Assists in coordinating information with and monitoring discipline-related outside consultants.
    • Monitors workload status; advises design manager.
    • Prepares meeting minutes and other communications in coordination with design manager.
    • Mentoring of assigned staff

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design from a CIDA accredited school
  • 5-8 years of interior design experience

To thrive in this role, you'll need:

  • NCIDQ certification
  • Discipline production software proficient. (i.e. Revit and Bluebeam)
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.

En este puesto disenara espacios de alto impacto para distintos tipos de clientes y edificios, trabajando junto a arquitectos, ingenieros y expertos en construccion, y se busca un disenador o disenadora de interiores de media carrera, creativo, con capacidad para gestionar y ejecutar el diseno interior a lo largo de todas las fases del proyecto.Responsabilidades principalesDesarrollar tareas de diseno interior relacionadas con programacion, planeacion de espacios, diseno conceptual, esquematico y de desarrollo, documentacion constructiva y administracion de obra.Determinar y cumplir requisitos de normativas de edificacion y sostenibilidad; seleccionar y especificar acabados, mobiliario, iluminacion, arte y senalizacion interior.Elaborar material grafico para presentaciones (planos, bocetos, modelos 3D y renders) que comuniquen claramente la vision de diseno a clientes y usuarios finales, y generar documentos de construccion interior (planos de acabados, mobiliario, plafones, alzados, secciones, detalles y cuadros de especificaciones).Coordinarse con el equipo de diseno y construccion, consultores, proveedores y propietarios; participar en verificaciones en campo, inspecciones de obra, revision de planos de taller y demas actividades de administracion de construccion, colaborando tambien con otros disenadores de interiores.Educacion y experienciaTitulo universitario en Diseno de Interiores de una escuela acreditada por CIDA.Entre 3 y 10 anos de experiencia en diseno de interiores.Conocimientos y habilidades especificasDeseable experiencia en proyectos gubernamentales y certificacion NCIDQ; se valoran credenciales de sostenibilidad como LEED AP o WELL AP.Dominio de Revit y conocimiento de AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, 3ds Max, Rhino, Lumion y la suite Adobe Creative (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).Excelentes habilidades de presentacion y comunicacion, con enfoque colaborativo y orientado al detalle.
