App Service is a platform-as-a-service (PaaS) offering and one of the top services in Azure all-up (with most paying customers of any Azure compute service). The service powers Web Apps, Mobile Apps, API Apps, Logic Apps and Functions, a hot offering for the serverless world. App Service is seeking a passionate, driven, and collaborative Principal Technical Program Manager to drive the Secure Future Initiative (SFI) and Quality Excellence Initiative (QEI) across Serverless PaaS. In this role, you will engage with SFI and QEI requirements owners to understand, negotiate, and influence requirements before they reach engineering. You will partner closely with engineering leads and managers to deliver solutions that strengthen our security posture and elevate service resiliency and quality. Additionally, you will coordinate with engineers across the organization to monitor progress, resolve blockers, and provide status updates to the leadership team. Our team is small, efficient, and engineering-focused, thriving in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for a Principal TPM who embraces new challenges and adapts quickly to evolving programs. To support multiple initiatives simultaneously, you will leverage AI to boost productivity and continuously seek opportunities to enhance engineering efficiency through agentic AI-based solutions. Responsibilities The ideal candidate will be well versed with both security and quality, aspects of cloud services fundamentals. They will have the technical acumen to assess how these requirements would add value to our service or make them more secure. They will collaborate with engineering teams to implement fixes, solutions and best practices to meet these requirements. This role requires strong technical acumen, cross-team influence, and a passion for delivering secure, compliant, scalable, reliable, resiliency, and high-quality cloud services. Some of these requirements will need deep analysis and will emerge as separate programs. That would require the candidate to run multiple programs at the same time. To be successful in the role, the ideal candidate will require strong interpersonal skills, influencing without authority, drive for results, and collaboration in addition to a proven track record in technical program management and operational excellence. Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
