Vaco has partnered with a client in Noblesville, IN to hire a Materials Plannerfor a full time, direct hire opportunity.

This position is responsible for maintaining effective customer support by overseeing the material flow/availability for internal projects.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identifies, documents, and adheres to all processes performed, and interfaces with other departments.
  • Responsible for overseeing and managing the materials aspect of the company's project process.
  • Determine the needed materials, develop purchase orders, and ensure their availability.
  • Utilizes ERP system for the below, at a minimum:
    • Monitoring and maintaining project related items including obtaining appropriate quotations from the company and purchasing the necessary items
    • Monitoring and maintaining project related returns
    • Service notification monitoring and management (Project related machine refit)
  • Optimize the project related item return process
  • Monitors and adjusts the material safety stock levels
  • Detects slow moving inventory and initiates appropriate measures
  • Obtains the appropriate approval for all project related purchases in accordance with Payment/Purchase Authorization Guidelines.
  • Oversees daily activities of Purchasing Clerk and implement continuous improvement processes
  • Develops and conducts training for all new team members in Purchasing.
  • Conducts vendor audits.
  • Develops and maintains SOPs for Purchasing Department.
  • Adheres to established guidelines and requirements for supplier relationships and audits.
  • Supports the development of and helps to maintain the annual budget and KPI's for the department.
  • Use tools to improve efficiency and software packages like Microsoft Office.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 4+ years of previous experience in a manufacturing environment where purchasing skills were essential to the overall operations of the organization is required.
  • Computer software skills required include: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe.
  • A strong working knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP
  • Forecasting experience is highly preferred
  • This position may require some domestic travel.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco by Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco by Highspring believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure.
