Vaco is hiring a Purchasing Manager
Location: Pompano Beach, FL
Compensation: $65-$75/annually

Responsible for all purchasing activities and establishes strategic purchasing processes and procedures for purchasing materials, products, and services. Researches the best supplier to utilize, negotiates terms/pricing, logistics and ensures items purchased are compliant with organizations requirements as well as Government standards.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business or supply chain management or relevant experience.
  • Five years of experience as a buyer or manager in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge of ERP systems.

Duties and Responsibilities The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Represent company in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliers.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying, selling, and distributing materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies.
  • Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and interview them to determine product availability and terms of sales.
  • Maintain relationship with vendors or suppliers and negotiate contracts and secure advantageous terms for major purchases.
  • Monitor suppliers' activities to assess performance in meeting quality or delivery requirements.
  • Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment.
  • Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain records of goods ordered and received.
  • Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products or substitute materials.
  • Monitor upcoming levels of demand.
  • Determines optimal inventory levels for purchased product based on minimum order quantities, re-order points, lead time, safety stock, and cost.
  • Inspect and ensure stock is adequate to meet demand requirements.
  • Create purchase orders to replenish stock avoiding insufficiencies or excessive surplus.
  • Analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability in order to determine quantity and timing of deliveries
  • Track shipments and address any delays
  • Create and maintain vendor/supplier profiles up to date
  • ERP Item Management
  • Resolve vendor or contractor grievances and claims against suppliers.
  • Coordinates supplier corrective action/root cause analysis for identified problems. Maintains records regarding supplier performance.
  • Control purchasing department budgets.
  • Review, evaluate, and approve specifications for Government awards and contracts.
  • Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
  • Administer online purchasing systems.
  • Prepare reports regarding market conditions, material requirements, costs and delivery times.
  • Solicits pricing for accurate and timely response to Requests for Quote or new product development and prepares the quotes
  • Executes non-disclosure agreements as necessary with suppliers Maintains records of executed NDA's.
  • Ensures the security of Fischer Panda and customer intellectual property and other data with suppliers.
  • Assists in the role of "Parts Manager" in his/her absence.
  • Maintains and promotes the highest level of ethical conduct
  • Manage relationships and negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, and freight forwarders.
  • Confirm Purchase Order Pricing against Order Confirmations. Contact Vendor with any pricing discrepancies, request corrected copy prior to receipt of goods.
  • Meet with suppliers to discuss performance metrics, to provide performance feedback, or to discuss production forecasts or changes. Identify process bottleneck and implement solutions in a timely manner
  • Ensures that supply chain systems, processes, and procedures conform to ISO 9001 requirements.
