At Worley, our purpose is delivering a more sustainable world. We're a global professional services company of energy, chemicals and resources experts partnering with our customers to solve complex problems and create value over the life of their assets. Right now, we're bridging two worlds - accelerating to more sustainable energy sources while helping to provide the energy, chemicals and resources society needs today.

With nearly 50,000 people across 45 countries, we're united by a shared ambition: to be recognized as a leader in sustainability solutions. We know we can only achieve this by bringing together experienced leaders who can align strategy with execution. That's where you come in.

Purpose of the Role

As Lead Area Scheduler, you will provide leadership and technical oversight for all planning and scheduling activities within a defined project area on major power generation programs. This role is critical to ensuring safe, predictable, and efficient project execution across complex EPC environments.

You will align detailed area-level schedules with the overall integrated master schedule, ensuring engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities are fully coordinated. By proactively identifying risks, driving mitigation strategies, and ensuring schedule integrity, you will play a key role in delivering high-value power projects that meet customer commitments and organizational objectives.

This position requires strong experience in power generation projects (e.g., combined cycle, simple cycle, fossil, renewables, substations, transmission, or related infrastructure), along with the ability to lead planning teams and influence project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading all planning and scheduling activities for a designated project area within major power generation projects.

  • Developing, maintaining, and progressing detailed EPC schedules in alignment with the integrated master schedule.

  • Ensuring full integration of engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup activities within the assigned area.

  • Establishing and maintaining schedule governance, standards, and best practices consistent with organizational and project requirements.

  • Managing area-level planning personnel, including mentoring, technical guidance, performance feedback, and capability development.

  • Conducting critical path analysis, schedule risk assessments, and "what-if" scenario modeling to proactively manage schedule performance.

  • Identifying potential delays, constraints, and productivity impacts, and developing recovery plans in collaboration with construction, engineering, and project management teams.

  • Overseeing progress measurement, earned value reporting (where applicable), forecasting, and change impact analysis.

  • Supporting change management processes by evaluating schedule impacts of scope changes, field directives, and contract modifications.

  • Providing clear, data-driven reporting to project leadership and customers, highlighting risks, mitigation strategies, and performance trends.

  • Collaborating closely with construction managers, area leads, subcontractors, and functional teams to ensure accurate field progress updates and schedule alignment.

  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning tools, systems, and scheduling methodologies across the project.

What you'll bring to the role
  • Significant experience in project planning and scheduling within power generation or power infrastructure projects (e.g., gas turbine, combined cycle, renewables, substations, transmission).

  • Demonstrated experience in EPC project environments, including field construction scheduling.

  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and strong working knowledge of scheduling best practices and critical path methodology.

  • Experience performing schedule risk analysis and developing recovery strategies.

  • Solid understanding of earned value management (EVM) principles and progress measurement systems.

  • Proven ability to lead and mentor scheduling professionals within a multi-disciplinary project team.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-complexity environment with multiple interfaces and priorities.
