We are seeking a Marketing Actuary to support the Individual Life Reinsurance team in driving new business pricing initiatives. This role will report to the Head of Individual Life Reinsurance and work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the ideation and delivery of bespoke solutions for clients of Munich Re. The ideal candidate will have a strong actuarial background, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for innovation in the life reinsurance sector.

Your Job

  • Creative Solutioning: Proactively follow market, product, or regulatory trends in life re/insurance, anticipate future client needs, and develop solutions that will differentiate Munich Re US Life in the market.
  • Technical Sales Lead: Develop relationships with clients, understand their biggest challenges, and develop innovative solutions that meet internal pricing standards.
  • Strategic Leadership: Have a deep understanding of the insurance industry and its stakeholders, with an eye to identify trends and find ways that Munich Re can be the partner of choice.
  • Product, Pricing, and Execution Expertise: Have a sold understanding of life insurance products and reinsurance solutions combined with execution expertise.
  • Talent development: Be a coach, mentor, and manager to your team, participate in recruitment and talent development efforts across IL Reinsurance.
  • Performance Monitoring: Develop ways to monitor business and ensure thorough analysis of deals in place.
  • Operational Management: Ensure that the pricing team has the tools needed to succeed in delivering solutions for client needs.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, Mathematics, Accounting
  • 10+ years Actuarial employment in the life insurance/reinsurance industry
  • FSA designation
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proven track record of collaboration and leadership in organizations
  • Ability to develop and/or implement business solutions based on extensive product and/or market knowledge
  • Pricing and product development experience preferred
  • Reinsurance experience preferred
  • Experience working in fast-paced, high-performance environments

For New York City based employees, the base salary range anticipated for this position is $264,560 to $306,322, plus an opportunity for an annual company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay.
