The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:
The Lead Tech Is responsible to perform and assist department supervisors in overseeing and coordinating the daily activities involved with all aspects of decontamination cleaning disinfection sterilization and surgical supplies and equipment distribution including case carts functions.
Assists department supervisors in coordinating daily work levels to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency throughout all department functions. The Lead Tech must be capable of accepting pressure assignments clerical assignments and performing all assigned duties relative to the department .

Qualifications:

Required:

* 3 years minimum of Central Sterile Processing experience required. Must be current in all areas of the Central Sterile Processing department.
* Must be certified by the IAHCSMM or the Sterile Processing board as mandated by the New Jersey State Department of Health.
* Must accrue CEU's to maintain current certification.
* Must attend hands on in-service/seminars pertaining to the Central Sterile Processing department. Must be current within all aspects of instrumentation, cleaning, disinfection, decontamination, sterilization, packaging and sterile supplies.

Certification required:
* Must be certified by the IAHCSMM or the Sterile Processing board as mandated by the New Jersey State Department of Health.

Scheduling Requirements :
* Full time
* Evening 37.5 hours

Essential Functions:
* He She must be able to identify understand written data and be able to read write alpha and numeric data accurately
* Maintains a working knowledge of department and infection control policies and procedures. Properly and effectively practices hand hygiene throughout the shift. Follows all manufacturer guidelines for sterilization.
* Must be conscientious with regards to surgical procedures nursing units clinical needs and equipment procurement.
* Maintains a working knowledge of department and infection control policies and procedure.
* Assists supervisor in reviewing for accuracy and maintains department documentation for sterilization records and manufacturer s instructions for use Must be able to interact professionally with other departments and personnel within the system including physicians
* Must demonstrate a willingness to accept new responsibilities/ideas learn duties of the position and possess good organizational skills Must be able to assist SPD Supervisor with staff orientation on the job training activities in the department.
* Performs and assumes responsibility for the activities within the department including but not limited to cleaning decontamination disinfection assembly and sterilization of surgical devices instruments code carts and patient care equipment .
* Assumes responsibility for the distribution of medical surgical supplies and equipment and ensures adequate levels of supplies and patient care equipment to meet patient and customer needs Requires the ability to work in a high stress high volume department .
