Description
The Manager of Security and Risk Management is administratively and operationally accountable to the Director of Safety and serves as the primary Airline Operations Security Coordinator. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable TSA security programs and for leading the organization's Safety Risk Management (SRM) processes. The role is responsible for identifying security and operational risks, facilitating hazard analysis and mitigation, maintaining regulatory alignment, and promoting a proactive, just safety culture across the operation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and facilitate safety and security risk management programs throughout the organization
- Serve as a primary point of contact with applicable aviation security agencies, including the TSA and foreign entities.
- Familiarization and training in Safety Management, including: Policy and Attributes, Hazard Identification, Risk Analysis and Mitigation, Safety Assurance and Corrective Action, and Safety Promotion. Safety Management functions
- Assist the Internal Evaluation Program with conducting required security audits
- Security Management System (SeMS) Oversight: Maintain and oversee the Company's Security Management System to ensure compliance with aviation security regulations.
- Approve and oversee security-authorized representatives within the organization
- Coordinate, investigate and facilitate action on employee-initiated event report
- Assist with Company investigations, ensuring proper documentation, root cause analysis, implementation and resolution.
- Train and support Company personnel on safety risk management processes
- Security Compliance and Training Support: Advance and maintain security training programs for all employees as well as crewmembers to ensure compliance with program regulations
- Perform any additional duties as deemed necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be able to speak, write, and read fluent English.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Working knowledge of airline quality and safety management systems.
- Demonstrated experience interfacing with regulatory agencies and managing audits.
- Must be able to pass a 10-year Background/Criminal check and pre-employment drug screen
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Aviation Safety/Security/other aviation-related field
- 3+ years of experience in airline regulatory compliance, safety, security, or quality assurance, preferably within a Part 121 environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of airline regulations and aviation industry standards.
- Knowledge and education in applicable TSA-adopted security programs
