Location:

South Jordan, UT (AMG) - On-site industrial - VSA (O2) How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? PROGRAM SUMMARY: Program is a temporary 10 week program for current college students designed to provide training, exposure and experience in a key functional area that impacts our business. Participants will work directly with managers and mentors who can contribute to their career development in addition to helping them build technical and leadership skills.

Position SUMMARY: Engineering Interns will gain a perspective and understanding of various areas of production at Airgas,.The intern will have the opportunity to work on a variety of diverse projects that provide real-world work experience and directly impact the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Projects

  • Support the engineering, manufacturing and procurement process and ensure that it meets the needs of the projects including

  • Coordinate with internal and external engineering resources

  • Assists in the development of project proposals, cost estimates and budgets, timelines and schedules

Safety & Compliance

  • Supports and complies with all process safety management and risk management plan practices.

  • Supports all personnel policies directed by local and corporate personnel.

Data Management and Analysis

  • Learn the skills and gain exposure to use of analytic, decision and information systems within the organization

  • Support the reliability and efficiency of Productions using analysis and operations research tools such as optimization, simulation and data analysis

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Education:

  • Currently working towards a graduate or undergraduate degree, a focus in Supply Chain, Logistics, or business administration preferred

  • 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA

Required Length & Type of Experience:

  • Prior internship experience preferred but not required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Dependable, quick learner who is independent and works well with others

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Detail-oriented and quality focused

  • Ability and desire to work in industrial environments

  • Strong verbal communication, organization, scheduling skills

  • Ability to act with professionalism, customer focus, and confidentiality

  • Ability to learn and utilize Google applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail)

  • Able to save and maintain electronic files

  • Ability to learn and use additional 3rd party software programs

  • Ability to write routine business reports and business correspondence in English.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from Associates and/or customers.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals using the English language.

  • Strong Mathematical abilities including ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and to compute rate, ratio, and percentages

  • Ability to prioritize workload and self-manage projects, handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines
