Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality Control (QC) Manager to work closely with EA's Director of Quality Programs with ensuring that environmental services, field operations, laboratory analyses, and documentation meet regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal quality policies. This role supports compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations and ensures accuracy, consistency, and integrity of EA's environmental activities and reporting.


Responsibilities

* Participate in the update corporate quality documents, program-specific quality management plans, standard operating procedures, and other quality-related documents
* Maintain EA's standard of excellence and superior service quality through collaboration with EA's Technical Chiefs, Senior Technical Reviewers (STRs), Business Directors, Profit Center Managers, Project Managers, and Project Teams
* Monitor project performance and implementation of QC procedures on an ongoing basis, including participation in project reviews with project managers and staff on a quarterly or semiannual basis.
* Review environmental reports, data packages, and technical documents for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance
* Track program and project reviews, identifying quality issues, and ensure implementation of potential corrective actions.
* Perform quality control (QC) checks on sampling procedures, laboratory results, and field documentation
* Monitor compliance with environmental regulations (e.g., EPA, state DEQ, OSHA) and internal quality standards
* Conduct internal audits of field activities, laboratory processes, and documentation systems
* Track and document non-conformances and coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
* Maintain quality control records and assist in preparing for internal audits or regulatory inspections
* Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control protocols
* Support training of staff on quality standards, data integrity, and compliance procedures
* Collaborate with project managers, field technicians, and laboratory staff to resolve quality-related issues
* Analyze trends in quality data and recommend process improvements.
Note: This position will require regular travel (monthly) to EA's Hunt Valley office and occasional travel (quarterly) to satellite offices around the U.S.


Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, chemistry, biology, environmental science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
* 10+ years of hands-on experience managing and implementing Quality Management Systems (QA and QC) for an engineering- or science-based firm.
* Strong understanding of environmental regulations and standards
* Experience reviewing technical reports and analytical data
* Knowledge of QA/QC procedures and documentation practices
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and data management systems seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality Control (QC) Manager to work closely with EA's Director of Quality Programs with ensuring that environmental services, field operations, laboratory analyses, and documentation meet regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal quality policies. This role supports compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations and ensures accuracy, consistency, and integrity of EA's environmental activities and reporting.


Desired Qualifications

* Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 17025, or other quality management systems
* Familiarity with EPA methods and environmental sampling protocols
* Certification as a Certified Manager of Quality/Operational Excellence or Internal Auditor
* Experience in environmental consulting, remediation, waste management, or testing laboratories

Note: This position requires specific driving duties. You must be able to pass a motor vehicle records check required by our insurer.


Drug Screen Statement

Pay Range
$175,000 $200,000 USD

The EA pay range for this position is intended as a general guideline and does not guarantee specific compensation or salary. Factors considered when making an offer include job responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, alignment with market data, and compliance with federal and state laws.
