As an Relationship Manager Associate, you will actively pursue the growth of relationships specific to Commercial Real Estate for NBH Bank, providing full range banking services with an emphasis on loans, treasury management and deposit business products, with a goal of earning 100% of the client's relationship. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks including expanding business relationships by calling on existing clients to offer CRE loan, deposit, and treasury services. You will identify Consumer, Mortgage and Premier/Private Banking opportunities to refer to the appropriate Bank Associates. You will be able to provide initial credit analysis skills including review of the Client's financial statements, high-level credit worthiness of the opportunity and advising the Client on loan structures. You will be expected to provide high-level guidance around treasury management products and be able to bring in Treasury Management partners for further counsel to the client. Guide the Client and internal partners in all aspects of the on-boarding process, from initial meetings to on-going account maintenance. Deliver a consistent and positive experience to all Clients with every interaction and monitor loan portfolio performance by maintaining contact with the borrowers and understanding to resolve problems.


Relationship Manager Associates will cultivate client relationships to ensure maximum results consisting of expanding and retaining full banking relationships, with an enhanced focus on deposit, treasury and CRE loan growth. You will understand market industry research for market trends that impact client's business and spot opportunities to provide financial services. Relationship Manager Associates are expected to build rapport with clients and fellow associates and treat others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position, maintain current knowledge and continuously be informed/updated about the CRE industry and how it currently, and will impact in the future, your client's business.


All associates are expected to maintain current knowledge and consistent compliance with regulations and bank policies and procedures related to the position, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements.


As an Associate Relationship Manager, you will have an opportunity to develop into a Relationship Manager, upon proven success of relationship expansion and management of existing relationships. You will develop the competencies needed to transition into a Relationship Manager role.


Minimum Requirements: This position requires the following educational and/or job experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 3+ years of Commercial Real Estate
  • 3+ years of banking experience.
  • Completion of bank training or formal credit training program.
  • Experience managing client relationships and structuring lending opportunities
  • Understanding of the closing legal documentation process, including document review and negotiation



Desired Skills: Ideal candidates for this position should possess some or all of the following skills:



  • Strong credit background with ability to analyze financial statements, underwrite loans, and prepare loan presentations for approval by credit committees.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to clearly and concisely articulate issues.
  • Ability to think creatively and meet challenges with resourcefulness.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build peer and/or team cohesiveness.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands and effectively manage multiple tasks and/or projects.
  • Ability to make sound and timely decisions, to consistently deliver on commitments and assume responsibility for results.
  • Strong client service skills with the ability to interact in a professional manner with both internal and external clients.
  • Carries oneself in a professional manner both inside and outside the bank, always representing the bank in a professional manner.
  • Proficient in MS office applications which include Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Competent as stand-in for Relationship Manager when deemed necessary by Market Leader or Senior Managing Director.
