The Specialist I, Contracts STAT (Lab) ensures that a STAT Lab contract is secured for all DaVita Facilities. This position negotiates STAT agreements between DaVita Facilities and a neighboring hospital/laboratory. This role inputs and maintains all new, renegotiated and amended STAT contracts into the Contracts Tracking spreadsheet and ensures that the rates associated with each contract event are accurately reflected in the database. This position reports to the Supervisor or Manager, Patient Accounting

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Research local hospitals/laboratories to identify locations that are in close proximity to the DaVita facilities, redline STAT agreements and any pertinent legal documents, coordinate with Paralegals, General Counsel, Facility Administrators, Regional Directors and VPs to negotiate and execute STAT Contracts

  • Research all DaVita facilities to ensure a STAT contract is in place by reviewing contract documents in the AIMS system and submitting requests to Facility Administrators

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the healthcare industry with provider billing and/or payer experience

  • Demonstrated knowledge of contract language and claim systems strongly preferred

  • Contract negotiation skills a must

  • Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and ability to use Internet effectively required

  • Understand benefit verifications as they pertain to outpatient kidney dialysis laboratory testing

Remote: Mon, Tues & Fri
Onsite: Weds & Thurs
1st 2 weeks of employment is fully onsite
Pick from one of the following timeslots:
* 7:30 am - 4:00 pm
* 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
* 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
