The Director of Finance is a key member of the SGI leadership team, responsible for overseeing the financial health and directing the financial strategy for our manufacturing operations. This role serves as a crucial strategic partner to the operational leadership team, providing financial guidance and data-driven insights to optimize performance across our four manufacturing plants. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on yet strategic leader with a strong background in manufacturing finance, capable of both high-level analysis and effective team management.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership:
* Serve as the primary financial partner to the VP of Operations and Plant Operations Directors, providing insightful analysis and strategic guidance to drive plant performance and profitability.
* Act as an integral member of the company's leadership team, contributing to the development and execution of long-term strategic goals and operational objectives.
* Translate complex financial information and key performance indicators into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.
* Evaluate and drive cost improvement initiatives, recognizing patterns in company spending and revenue and recommending solutions to enhance efficiency and profitability.

* Provide financial modeling and analysis for key business decisions, including capital investments, new product lines, and other strategic projects.

Financial Operations & Management:
* Direct all aspects of financial and accounting management for manufacturing operations, ensuring the delivery of timely, accurate, and complete financial statements that meet internal and external reporting requirements.
* Lead the annual budgeting, periodic forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes for the manufacturing sites.
* Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring adherence to U.S. GAAP and company policies.
* Manage cash flow, balance sheet health, and working capital for the operations.
* Analyze and report on monthly financial results, providing variance analysis and clear commentary on business performance.

Team Leadership & Development:
* Provide direct leadership, mentorship, and oversight to the finance teams across our four manufacturing facilities.
* Foster a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and professional development within the finance organization.
* Manage workflow demands and structure the team effectively to meet performance expectations and support business needs.

Controls, Compliance & Process Improvement:
* Ensure a robust internal control environment to safeguard company assets and maintain the integrity of financial data.
* Guarantee adherence to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
* Continuously evaluate financial and operational processes, implementing strategies and system enhancements to optimize effectiveness and efficiency.

Leadership/Supervision
This position manages all employees of the Plant Finance organization and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of employees within these departments. All plant finance and accounting personnel report up through this position.

Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field required. CPA, CMA, and/or MBA is highly desirable.

* A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing a team.
* Significant experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is desired.
* Demonstrated experience as a senior financial leader for a multi-site company or a large plant facility.

Technical Knowledge/Skills:
* Deep expertise in cost accounting, inventory management, and P&L analysis.
* Strong working knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
* Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and G-Suite.
* Experience with SAP or other large-scale ERP systems is a significant plus.
* Experience with Prophix, SAP Analytics Cloud, or other Data Analysis software a plus.

* Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to operate at both tactical and strategic levels.

Working Conditions: This is a full-time position. Normal days of work are Monday through Friday. This position will require long hours and some weekend work. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, copiers and smartphones. On occasion work may be performed in outdoor areas where extremes of heat, cold, dust, noise, wet conditions and rough terrain exist.

Base salary and/or rate of pay ranges listed are exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Individual compensation offers will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, relevant candidate experience and skill, education, and/or qualifications.
